Large time behavior for a Hamilton–Jacobi equation in a critical coagulation-fragmentation model

نویسندگان

چکیده

We study the large time behavior of sublinear viscosity solution to a singular Hamilton-Jacobi equation that appears in critical Coagulation-Fragmentation model with multiplicative coagulation and constant fragmentation kernels. Our results include complete characterizations stationary solutions optimal conditions guarantee convergence. In particular, we obtain convergence under certain natural on initial data, nonconvergence result when such fail.

Large Time Asymptotics for a Continuous Coagulation-Fragmentation Model with Degenerate Size-Dependent Diffusion

We study a continuous coagulation-fragmentation model with constant kernels for reacting polymers (see [AB]). The polymers are set to diffuse within a smooth bounded domain with no-flux boundaries. In particular, we consider size-dependent diffusion coefficients, which may degenerate for small and large cluster-sizes. We prove that the entropy-entropy dissipation method applies directly in this...

Adaptation and Fatigue Model for Neuron Networks and Large Time Asymptotics in a Nonlinear Fragmentation Equation

Motivated by a model for neural networks with adaptation and fatigue, we study a conservative fragmentation equation that describes the density probability of neurons with an elapsed time s after its last discharge. In the linear setting, we extend an argument by Laurençot and Perthame to prove exponential decay to the steady state. This extension allows us to handle coefficients that have a la...

Absence of Gelation and Self-Similar Behavior for a Coagulation-Fragmentation Equation

The dynamics of a coagulation-fragmentation equation with multiplicative coagulation kernel and critical singular fragmentation is studied. In contrast to the coagulation equation, it is proved that fragmentation prevents the occurrence of the gelation phenomenon and a mass-conserving solution is constructed. The large time behavior of this solution is shown to be described by a selfsimilar sol...
